What is a brand execution platform?

A brand execution platform is software that turns brand guidelines into flexible designs that local teams can adapt and produce themselves. Each design has the brand rules built in, so every version a market, store or dealer creates stays on brand, without a separate approval round.

The gap between the brand team and the local market

Global brand teams set the guidelines. Local marketers, franchisees, dealers and store teams need materials for their own market: in their language, with their prices and their offers. In between sits a queue of change requests to designers and agencies, or local teams who work around the brand and drift away from it.

A digital asset management (DAM) system stores approved files. A brand portal publishes the guidelines. Neither lets a local team turn an approved design into a correct local version. That last step, executing the brand, is the gap a brand execution platform closes.

How a brand execution platform works

  • Design systems: Designers build flexible designs that lock brand elements and define what may change, such as text, images, prices and layouts. GraFx Genie Design Agent can build a design system from a conversation.

  • Experience Portals: Each local team gets a branded portal. A local user finds a flexible asset, adapts it for their market, language and price, and downloads the result. No approvals are needed, because the brand rules sit in the design system.

  • Extensions: Portals can show static third-party content next to the flexible assets, so local teams find what they need in one place.

  • Connectors: Images and data come from the systems you already use. Media connectors pull images from your DAM, and data connectors fill in the variables of a design.

  • Automation: The same design systems also drive high-volume, data-driven production run by a central team.

Brand execution platform vs DAM vs creative tool

DAM

Stores, organizes and distributes approved files.

It answers: “Where is the latest approved asset?”

Local teams can download files, but not adapt them.

Creative tool

Gives designers the freedom to create anything.

It answers: “How do I make a new design?”

Local teams need design skills, and nothing stops them from breaking brand rules.

Brand execution platform

Turns approved designs into flexible assets with built-in rules.

It answers: “How does every market produce its own on-brand version?”

Local teams adapt within the rules, without design software.

The three work together. A brand execution platform doesn't replace your DAM: it uses the DAM's approved assets inside flexible designs.

Who it's for

A brand execution platform fits any organization where many people outside the brand team need marketing materials:

  • Consumer goods brands that run campaigns across many countries and retail partners.

  • Grocery and retail chains that produce store-specific promotions, prices and signage every week.

  • Franchise, dealer and distributor networks where local owners market their own location.

The brand and creative teams set the rules once. Franchisees, dealers, store teams and regional marketers use them every day.

Brand execution platform FAQ

Does a brand execution platform replace my DAM?

No. Your DAM stays the source of approved assets. CHILI GraFx connects to it through media connectors and uses its images inside flexible designs. For teams without a DAM, GraFx Media stores approved media inside the platform.

Do local teams need approvals?

Not for each asset. The brand rules live in the design system, so local users can only change what the designer left flexible. Local users can't produce anything off-brand.

Which DAMs does it work with?

CHILI GraFx has connectors for Aprimo, Acquia DAM, Bynder, Canto, Keepeek, Sitecore Content Hub and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). See the Connector Framework.

How is it different from a brand portal?

A brand portal publishes guidelines and approved files. A brand execution platform lets local teams produce new, local versions of approved designs within those guidelines.

How is it different from creative automation?

Creative automation generates large numbers of variants from data, usually run by a central team. CHILI GraFx does that too, and adds self-service for local teams through Experience Portals.
