Aprimo DAM Now Connects to GraFx Studio

Breaking news for Aprimo users. The new Aprimo Media Connector for GraFx Studio is available now in the Connector Hub. Once installed, GraFx Studio is supercharged with direct and live access to your Aprimo library. No more downloading or re-uploading assets – and no more wondering whether the file you're using is the approved one.

Your Aprimo library, live inside GraFx Studio

For designers using GraFx Studio, the new connection couldn't be simpler. Once configured, Aprimo appears inside GraFx Studio as a source you can browse. Designers and end users will see the same classification folders they know from Aprimo, so everyone will be right at home instantly.

The tl;dr of how it works:

• Browse and search the live library. Folder navigation mirrors Aprimo's own, and full-text search runs against Aprimo's database. Results come from the Aprimo source of truth, not a stale or unapproved copy.
• Metadata comes along for the ride. Beyond locating assets, the connector also surfaces campaign names, product codes, and whatever else your taxonomy knows about the asset, as well as providing the right localization for your market.
• Output uses the real master file. When GraFx Studio renders PDF output, the connector pulls the original high-resolution file from Aprimo. What ships is the approved, high-res original, and not a preview file.

Your DAM governance travels alongside

GraFx Studio connected to Aprimo also fully respects user rights – a clear prerequisite for the approval of most integrations. In fact, the connector authenticates as a standard service account you create and control in Aprimo, so admins will have full control of what GraFx Studio can access from the get-go.

Whatever your service account can see is what GraFx Studio can see. Nothing more. The rules your DAM already enforces stay fully intact, and there's no managing a second permissions model alongside the first.

Read-only, and that's the point

The Aprimo Media Connector running inside GraFx Studio has rights to browse, search, inspect, and download. It cannot create or modify assets in Aprimo.

That's deliberate – and it's a good thing.

Your DAM stays the single system of record, curated by those people whose job it is. Design teams consume from the DAM, and they don't quietly add unapproved or modified assets to it.
